Web Development - Website Development for Lithuanian Trade Union for People with Disabilities

The Challenge

The Lithuanian Trade Union for People with Disabilities advocates for the labor rights of workers with disabilities across Lithuania. Despite their mission, they had no website — no way to publish news, recruit members, or accept volunteers online.

Their team had limited technical skills, and no budget for a professional site. We volunteered to build it pro bono, because their work matters and they deserved proper digital tools to support it.

Our Approach

Everything was designed around one principle: the client runs the website entirely on their own. We chose Next.js with Payload CMS for the best balance of visitor performance and admin simplicity — the interface is visual, intuitive, and available in Lithuanian. No technical knowledge needed.

All forms are GDPR-compliant with encrypted data storage, and the site is responsive across all devices.

News Publishing Platform

News is the primary way the union communicates with members and the public. The homepage is built around it — articles about labor rights legislation, policy changes, and community updates.

The system includes rich text editing with images, pagination, and keyword search. The team publishes regularly, keeping the site fresh.

Membership and Volunteer Registration

Become a Member presents membership benefits — free legal consultations, collective bargaining support, financial aid, and training. This union charges no membership fees, which is highlighted prominently. A registration form captures applications directly.

Volunteering offers a simple registration form for people who want to contribute.

Smooth Handover and Ongoing Support

We didn’t just build the site and walk away:

• Recorded video instructions for common tasks
• 24/7 availability by phone or message whenever they need help

The Result

The trade union went from zero online presence to a website they manage independently. They publish news regularly, accept applications online, and control every page without needing a developer. It’s theirs.
